Some places offer higher points on your slot card at certain hours. Last year in December IP offered triple points on your card between midnight and 6 am on weeknights.
Another reason - there are lots of other things to do during the day and early evenings - I like to sitesee, shop, go to shows. Not much of a reall late night nighgclubber. So late night is agreat time for slots! sleep? in Vegas? what's that |

Not so far as winning there isn't, except for money in money out. The busier they are the better your chances may be.

I myself have had my best luck gambling after midnight on the slots. This is when I prefer to gamble.

It just happens that we've had our best luck after midnight, so that's when we try to concentrate our play if we can.
No real logic to it other than it's what seems to work for us. Jen |

We play the slots every weekend and yes I have had better luck after midnight. I think alot has to do with getting those machines to run through their codes and by midnight enough people have played them and the bigger wins are more likely to hit.
Just recent I hit the jackpot of the $1.00 machine for $1600.00 and I hit it at 1:30 AM at Sams Town. Even the smaller wins such at $800.00 seem to happen more after that midnight hour for us. VIVA LAS VEGAS p208.ezboard.com/bvivalasvegas9615 |

It always makes me laugh to see the number of people that have the little superstitions and think that the Casinos have a different set of rules for different times of day, weekends, and Holidays?? The RNG never sleeps nor has a cup of coffee prior to paying off....It IS always at function and performing its duties no matter what......There certainly seem to be many that believe in these "Old Wife's Tales" (substitute old slot players) and can not have their faith shaken....I just am glad they enjoy this believe...........:lol.....8)

I see it everyday. There is a guy that puts 3 dollar bills over the reels so he can't see them.
What fun is that? Ron www.slotbook.net edited for spelling see instead of seee. |

Mick-I gotta disagree with you-LLG and I play slots that are in a bank-a progressive slot and when there are a lot of people playing, the hits are few---the less people playing in the bank of say 16 machines- the more leggy little girlfriend hits-and the way I know this is that about 2am-the machines sit empty in the bank-seems she hits longer and harder-when she starts to get nothing-I walk around the bank and find 6 or 7 players on the other side of the bank-they leave and the bank is empty-she starts winning again-I see this pattern EVERY TRIP! If you have a full bank of players-the machines will EAT your money-if they are empty,or close to it you seem to win MUCH more!---Check it out sometime-We do it,and the pattern is there-RNG or no RNG-this is what we have found after NUMEROUS trips to Vegas!

mick...I'm pretty sure that all of us based our comments on our personal experiences, not old wives tales, etc...if you typically seem to win more in the wee small hours of the morning (or on an almost empty bank of progressive machines), it's not superstition to say that you do better in the wee small hours of the morning...it's just based on your personal experience.
Jamie and I almost always get killed during the day, and do well after 11pm. Maybe it's because we play for longer stretches late at night as we've got nothing else on the agenda, nowhere to be, etc. so we have more chance to win back what we lose...who knows...but it true for us that late night slots seem to pay out more...not suggesting that they're set that way, just that that's how it works out for us most of the time. All PROFESSIONAL SLOT PLAYERS know that the casino employees upstairs who push the jackpot buttons get more bored at night and tend to give out more jackpots on their midnight-8am shift.

As a slot player who rarely ever plays after midnight, wins come to me at any time. In Atlantic City a few nights ago I won $500 (on a nickel game) at 9 p.m. At Bally's last year, I won $1000 just after arriving about 1 p.m. Could it be that the casinos are more open after midnight and a better selection of machines is available? I hate it when casinos are so crowded with few macines open. I like to make my choice rather than be forced to play the only free machine. Then, I can move around until I find a machine that is being good to me.
