You heard it here FIRST---Pittsburgh Steelers-AFC Champs-got a ticket that was bet in Oct...DOWNSIDE--Leggy Little Grlfriend and I were in Mirage sportsbook 2nd week of the year-didn't bet Steelers when they were 40-1--AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-were standing there-------had the money in our pocket---AGHHHHH-Didn't pull the trigger---got my ticket at 8-1 as of october-will be in Vegas for AFC champ game-Who else is gonna be there?? Jan 20-Jan 26???? GOOOOOOOO STEELERS!!!!!

I agree that 40:1 is painful to pass up on....but this is worse. When I was in Laughlin over the summer, the Phoenix Suns were 70:1 odds. I thought about making a bet, just cuz they are my home team. And now.....
Granted, there still are a few months to go and then the playoffs. But the odds now are 4:1 We just destroyed Shaq and the Heat so i really wish i would have made that bet at 70:1 |

Anyone know what the odds were on the Chargers winning the AFC West? I mean, they STANK last year, and I was impressed that they finished 12-4 and won thier division, so what that they lost against the Jets! It was still a miracle year... |

SWTPUP, I'm looking at an odds sheet from 5/2004 (Mandalay Bay). It has the Steelers listed at 12-1 to be the AFC Champs. Are you sure the 40-1 you saw was for the AFC championship or Superbowl champ?

SW it is sad! I shelled out almost two-grand to sit and watch the Bucs choke week after week. The two-grand doesn't include gas (from Gainesville), food and alchohol.
Pitt is tough, I agree with you on that. As long as Minn and Atlanta stay out of the mix, we should have a decent Superbowl. |

This game will come down to experience in a pressure situation and Pitt has no experience there, and they shouldnt have gotten by the lowly J e t s, but they did.
I wont touch this game as far as betting goes as it will be a good defensive battle but I do favor the Patriots as they have a proven team that does nothing but win when it counts, and with the best Field Goal kicker in the clutch I give the Pats a 17-14 win in this game. Also I dont know why everyone is saying the Super Bowl was the New England, Indy game. Philly has game and can beat any team in the league, not to say they will win it all but I hope the odds makers give Philly some points in the Super Bowl as I will grab them up in a heart beat. By the way you few Atlanta Fans out there I am not forgetting about you as I know Michael Vick can win a game on his own, so I will not touch the Philly Atlanta game unless philly is giving less than 3, which I doubt. The worse the weather is the more I favor Philly so we will wait and watch the weather forcast before touching this game. Thanks to Ricky Williams I won my big play of the year easily which was the Dolphins winning under 9 this year. Even if Ricky had played I really dont believe I would of broke a sweat on that one. Remember this the Phillies win number this year will be around 87 I am sure, the Phillies will live up to there expectations this year and win the National league East. The Marlins will hang around with there pitching staff and if there bats can get hot at the right time they could sneak in as the wild card for the third time and we all know what happened the other two times ( World Champs ). Good luck and Remember I have given this board 8 straight winners dating back to last year, join me and make it 9 with the Phillies over 87 and who knows if you shop around maybe it will be less in a few casinos.  all the way to the bank |

Be careful with the Steelers. That coach is FAR from a brain surgeon and will be OUTMATCHED ( TOTALLY SO) in that department this week by Belechick ( sp?). However the Steelers have superior talent.
He has blown how many games in the AFC championships as DOUBLE DIGIT HOME FAVS???? 3 of 4, i believe....... |
